Hot Wrk Ensemble was awarded a Community Arts Grant to perform FREE community concerts during 2024!
Our project, Chamber Music Club: A Mid-Hudson Valley Tour, is coming to a venue near you! Come join us for some truly unique chamber music. Ask your questions, share your ideas, listen to diverse music, join the club!

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.

HOT WRK is:
J Brooks Marcus (J Why), percussion
Lois Hicks-Wozniak, saxophones
Brad Hubbard, baritone saxophone and woodwinds
Saxophone/woodwind and percussion trio founded in 2020 by award-winning musicians J Brooks Marcus (J Why), Lois Hicks-Wozniak and Brad Hubbard, Hot Wrk Ensemble is committed to creating community through diverse, genre-eclectic “chamber grooves” that include everything from Bossa Nova, Son Jalisciense, Scarlatti, contemporary classical and collaborative improvisation. Both questioning and answering, “what is chamber music?" Hot Wrk explores, deconstructs and wrks out concepts of traditional chamber music and the concert experience
